In 1965, Don Garlits drove Swamp Rat VI-B to a dominant victory at the Bakersfield March Meet, also known as the 1965 U.S. Fuel and Gas Championships. This was a highly successful and famous car, which had already broken the 200 mph barrier and won the NHRA Nationals the previous year.
